School of Music’s Opera Studio at the Manoel Theatre

The Opera Studio, within the MAVC Malta School of Music, will be giving its first theatrical presentation on the main stage of the Manoel Theatre on Friday 21st April at 7:30pm.

The Opera Studio was launched in February 2022, to great public and critical acclaim. They have since given performances in the Poulenc Room at the School of Music and the Robert Samut Hall in Floriana. The advanced vocal students selected for the Opera Studio attend weekly rehearsals with their specialized vocal tutors, Ms Miriam Cauchi, Dr Andriana Yordanova and Ms Graziella Debattista. They are also coached by conductor Mro Riccardo Bianchi and last year participated in a week-long workshops with internationally renowned opera director Vivien Hewitt.

Friday’s performance will offer a youthful theatrical performance of various Italian Opera Scenes, including Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona, and Donizetti’s L’Elise d’Amore and Rita, as well as Le Villi, La Boheme and Suor Angelica by Puccini.
The concert is being held in collaboration with Teatru Manoel.
